The Fall session of LET began with perler beads, warm irons, and melty fun!
New Library Card Design
It seems fitting to introduce a new Douglass Public Library Card design during Library Card Sign-Up month! If your library card has the old logo it will continue to work as usual, there is no need to obtain a new card. If you do not have a card for our library, stop by and fill out an application. Library cards are typically issued the day you apply. Join the 61% of Americans who say they have a public library card! FUN FACT: The Library of Congress in Washington D.C. is the largest public library in the U.S. with more than 173 million items and approximately 838 miles of bookshelves.
September Book Displays
Our featured author of the month is Giles A. Lutz a/k/a Wade Everett and Hunter Ingram (1910-1982). For many years Lutz wrote short stories about the American West. In the mid-1950s he made the transition to full-length western novels. The kids display invites kiddos to celebrate National Happy Cat month. The adult display features never or hardly ever checked out books. If you check out a book from this collection, we’d like your opinion about whether it’s a “goner” or a “keeper”. Recently added adult non-fiction books are displayed on our “New and True” bookcase. Stop by and check out a book!
