We’re excited to see you for a variety of Take Your Child to the Library activities this Saturday. We’ve adjusted the time a little and activities will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Drop by and spend some time with us.
New Program Added
February is the beginning of a new monthly program we’re calling our Kid Librarian. Each month a kiddo will be chosen to be our Kid Librarian. That blossoming reader will set up a display with their book picks and decor relating to favorite books, favorite place to read, book character they would like to meet, favorite thing about the Douglass Public Library and more! The display is set up in the children’s area. Stop by and learn about Samuel, our first Kid Librarian–his favorite things about our library may surprise you! If your child is in 1st grade or older and would like to be a Kid Librarian, stop by the front desk to pick up an application.
Thank you to the South Central Kansas Library System (SCKLS) for funding our Kid Librarian Program.
February Book Displays
Our featured author of the month is Wayne D. Overholser an author and storyteller of western fiction. The kids display invites young patrons to “spy with their eye”. Adults can “beat the winter blues” with books from the adult display. Recently added non-fiction books are also featured this month. Stop by and check out a book!
