Unusual Visitor at the Library

An unusual creature joined us at the library today! Our natural curiosity led us on an investigation. This is a Polyphemus Moth. It is a giant silk moth. It is one of the largest moths in the country and is mostly active in the summer months. The adult moth only lives for about a week. During that time it does not eat, but instead mates and lays eggs.
