We were recently awarded a Rural Library Grant which allowed us to add Dial-A-Story to the services we offer. We are turning back time and going “old school”! The only piece of equipment you will need in order to use this system is a telephone! Dial the dedicated phone number, 316-747-6060, to hear information and narrated stories from the library staff, obtain lunch menus and activities details from the Senior Center, and stay up to date on news from the City of Douglass. Dial-A-Story will be updated monthly to keep information current.
Library Fun at Frontiers Day!
Community members participated in the Friends of the Library (FOL) cake walk fundraiser. The cake walk took place in front of the library and was enjoyed by people of all ages! The next FOL event will be a bake sale held at the library during Christmas Around Town on November 19 from 9:00 – 2:00. Please plan to support FOL and the library during this event.
Adventure Packs for 2022!
Our ALL NEW Adventure Packs contain admission to a museum or activity for library patrons. They may also contain books, games, or a craft. The following are the guidelines for checking out a pack.
~ You must be 18 years or older, a Douglass Public Library cardholder, and you are the responsible party on the card.
~ You may place a reserve on a pack by searching “Adventure Pack” in our online catalog. You have 3 business days to pick up the pack.
~ The loan is for one week (FIRM), no renewals. There is a $5.00 per day overdue fine for late packs. Replacement costs vary per pack. The pack must be returned to the desk during open library hours. They CANNOT be put in the book drop.
~ Each household may only have one pack checked out at a time. There is a 48-hour waiting period before the same pack may be checked out again by the same household.
~ Passes may be limited to general admission only. Special exhibits may not be covered, and other restrictions may apply. The Museums and the Library may change the terms and conditions of the passes at any time.
